Discovering Your Destiny

First Semester 2012 Course

Would you like to 'live the dream'? We are going to look at what it is to live the dreams God has placed in your heart. Discovering what it is that you are passionate about and how to start thinking and living toward those dreams. Someone once said, "Don't ask what you can do for the world. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do that. Because what the world needs is people who are fully alive." We want you to be fully alive and to live a life that is full of meaning, passion, and joy - to be fully you.

Join us on Sunday nights to discover your destiny and some helpful tips on how to align your thoughts and actions with the passions He has placed in your heart.

Facing Fears

Sunday 14th August 2011

We started the night with a worship session from iBethel TV and it was an awesome time of worship!

Continuing our focus on people's strengths in our community, we had Dean share about his strengths and we let him know about some he hadn't mentioned. Dean then imparted his strenght to us by the laying on of his hands. A very encouraging time. We prayed for Dean and his adventure of going to America and attending the Bethel school in Redding.

We spoke briefly on the fears people face in life and the need to step over these thresholds of fear to move onto places we and God want us to be. Breaking into small groups, we shared with each other a fear that's holding us back and we prayed and encouraged one another. A great community activity to support and encourage one another!

Kingdom Culture Part 2

Sunday 7th August 2011

Tonight Shera and Matt continue to expound on some Kingdom Culture principles taught at the Kingdom Culture Conference at Bethel in Redding California.

One of the keys to vital community living and developing a kingdom culture is being in an environment where there is lots of encouragement. Everyone should be actively encouraging one another. Everything is a big deal at Bethel and encouragement is a priority. So peoples lives are celebrated all the time. Encouragement across the board between everyone in the community needs to become a stronghold. This is a prophetic environment and the release of the prophetic is part of an encouraging culture. We have to see people as God sees them and by our encouragement, help them realise the greatness that's in them.

Our Western upbringing is very individualistic and we must realise, to live in community, that it's not all about 'me'. When you realise it's not all about you, but the people around you, then you start to get engaged to encourage and equip those around you. In turn, others are engaged to encourage and equip you. We classically reserve our strength for people who are like ourselves. We should be building strength in our lives to give out to others, regardless of wether they are like you or not.

"Keep your love on" is a favourite saying of Danny Silk and one we would like to see adopted at KLC. In community it means we are willing to be vulnerable, to tell the truth, to trust, because we love one another and love the community we are part of. It's all about covenant - I'm committed to this relationship and no matter what differences we may have, we can work through them, I'm going to keep loving you and I'm not going to run away or turn off to you.

There was a lot of ground covered tonight and we will continue to go over these principles until it becomes second nature. Over the next few weeks we will be introducing 'dream culture' - leaning to grab hold of the dreams that are within you and practical ways to not only discover the dreams but to put them into action! We are also going to be hearing about the strengths of those who are regulars on a Sunday night and have a time of impartation.

Kingdom Culture Part 1

Sunday 31st July 2011

Tonight Shera talked about the importance of community in developing a kingdom culture. Having just been to the Kingdom Culture Conference at Bethel in Redding California, both Shera and Matt are keen to see the principles of a Kingdom Culture put into practice here at KLC.

Community is absolutely essential for the encouragement, widsom, and strength of those in our fellowship. We can't live isolated lives - it's God's design that we live in community, in vital relationship with one another. Community is where we encourage one another, draw strength from one another, and live in an atmosphere of grace toward one another. To do community is not an easy path to take - but it's God's way. God is all about relationship and family, and kingdom culture reflects that part of God's nature. Community is not a side issue but the main theme of Christianity - living with and for one another.

2010 Roundup

We've had a great year in 2010 exploring more of the prophetic at KLC on a Sunday night. Here's a bit of a roundup of what we got up to.

We have done a night of prophetic art whereby we put down our inspiration on canvas as free worship music was played. It was great to see everyone expressing themselves with paints and pencils, even the little ones! It was interesting to hear the artists interpretations of their work and what the Holy Spirit was speaking through the art. We will explore more of this in 2011 and hopefully see some budding prophetic artists start spreading their artistic wings on a Sunday morning or at conferences we hold.

There was some prophetic swordsmanship (see article below) where we plunged a sword or two into things that were hindering our walk with God - that was a fun prophetic act that focused on the power and authority we have over such things that are holding us back.

Body ministry time is a regular event on a Sunday night and the general consensus is that this is the most popular and satisfying times we have together. We generally take turns in having someone sit in the middle of us (in the hot seat), and we all lay hands on that person and pray and prophecy what comes to us. Most of the time there is no preparation, we don't ask what the person needs prayer for, we just jump straight in with the intention of blessing the one in the middle. Words will flow and blessing is released - it's very fun! It's a great 'safe' environment for people to practice the prophetic and to release words over someone. There will be times when we are chasing a particular thing and we will have body ministry to one another, praying for and prophesying the thing we are after, and these times are just as satisfying.

We have had a go at prophetic singing. Practicing the 'harp & bowl' style of prayer/prophecy/worship where everyone can try in their own space and the bolder ones can step up to the microphone to release whatever is stirring in their hearts.

We practice treasure hunting at KLC, but one night we did treasure hunting/prayer walking with a difference. With Google Maps (thanks Google for providing a great prophetic and intercessory tool!) we locked in on our local area and asked the Lord for words and insight to pray and make prophetic declarations. We would get a word (a place or name or picture) and then go looking for it on Google Maps and pray over that area with the information we had received from the Lord and by what we could glean from Google. This was a very fun exercise and although some clues came up blank, there were some surprising  'finds' on our virtual treasure hunt. We did also pray for things like the city 'gates' and places of influence like schools, council, police, etc. We will have another go (or two) of this in 2011 and maybe cover areas like the entire world - why not? We are called to the nations after all.

A big part of our time on a Sunday night is about encountering God. So it is usual that we have worship as part of that encountering experience and often sharing with one another what experiences of the Lord we have been having and what He has been communicating to us.

There were a bunch of other things we did through the year and we will have some participants give testimony to these things on a Sunday morning and encourage others to join us in exploring more of the prophetic and encountering our amazing God on a Sunday night.

Matt & Shera Dahlitz

When?

Sunday Nights at 5pm

We gather together at the main auditorium for a 5pm start each Sunday night unless there is another event organised. The time is opened ended but will normally go for 2 hours.

Why?

Prophetic Exploration

Our encounter God nights are designed to be a 'safe' place to explore the prophetic and seek the Lord in an atmosphere of free worship, prophetic expression, and intercession.

What do we do?

No set agenda

It's different each time we get together. We plan on going with the flow of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes the leaders will have something they want to teach or some direction to go in, and other times  we don't know until we start worship or prayer. Whatever it is we encourage everyone to get involved and learn to express themselves and use the time to develop their prophetic gifting among other things.

First Semester 2012

For the first semester of 2012 we will be doing a course "Discovering Your Destiny". This course will start at 5pm in the main auditorium with a finger food dinner (please bring a plate of something to share) and will finish at 7pm.

Who's leading?

Shera Dahlitz

Shera Dahlitz facilitates the night as we trust the Holy Spirit to lead us. Sometimes there will be visiting ministers who will take the night and we will just go with whatever they have on their heart to do.

Who can come?

Anyone

Anyone who loves the Lord and is desiring to go deeper in encounters with Him. If you are looking for a place to practice corporate prophetic expression then this is a safe place to spread your wings, make some mistakes, be encouraged, and gain confidence.
